Very comprehensive and thick!! Like it a lot. My only problem w it is the printing. All the rough guides I’ve got in the past have had a nice batch of well printed photos with high gloss finish. This one does not. Very cool book tho.
With technology, these guides have become far less useful. Good for general information but that’s about it. I suppose that they know their market niche, but I’d rather see more on alternative lodging options—eg Airbnb—than high end hotels.
Better written than Lonely Planet and with color pages. My go to brand and reliable as ever.

This 944-page book, the 16th printed edition of March 2018, is an interesting and readable (the two are not always found together) guide to the United Kingdom of Spain (read the history section).Unlike many guides, this is not a glossy booklet dotted with colourful photographs to make it look superficially attractive, but a (literally) rough guide in terms of comparative paper finishes, but well-designed and presented, with readable text, useful maps, and (well-chosen) photographs only where space allowed.
