Overall this is a good quality question bank.Pro:+Presents obscure questions that you might encounter on shelf exams but not in real life+Has Ultrasound, CT, X-ray images that's help you brush up on image interpretation+Succinct explanations are straight to the pointCon:-Might not reflect the breakdown of the actual shelf in terms of focus or questions per section.-Many questions have shorter question stems, and might not reflect the actual shelf exam in terms of format.If you want a passing grade (i.e. not going into EM), this is a good resource to use. If however you want to have a higher score on the shelf (i.e. honors), you definitely need to supplement this with other study resources such as First Aid, and/or Case Files.

It's a good book don't get me wrong, but Rosh review is better. I got a 96 on my NBME.
Not NBME style q's, but this book series tests clinical facts, & you need a lot of info in your head to be able to critically think the NBME shelf style multi-step q's. This is good for that. Fact recall in q-based format. I recommend ALL Pre-test books for info stuffing throughout the clerkship. Use USMLE world to get a good sense for the multi-step variety, & will give you a sense for how to cut through the BS & find out out of all the verbosity of the NBME q's, what is it actually asking you about.

Pretest ER 3rd edition is pretty comprehensive and tests over the major topics one needs to know for ER. Some questions may be a little easier than what may be seen on the shelf exam but overall the book still gives a good base of knowledge for the test.
