Excellent book -- I highly recommend it. I did not know all of this even happened in Nashville, and the way the author presents it all is as good as any good murder mystery novel. I like his writing style, and will definitely be reading him again.
This true crime from the pursuers of justice perspective is meticulously researched and engaging. Although it drags on a few places and there is some duplication is tough to put down.
A great book about a devoted and respected Nashville homicide detective. I have lived in Nashville my entire life and witnessed (via local news medIa) Homicide Detective Pat Postiglione covering many homicide cases over the years. He is certainly an asset to the Nashville Police Department and to the city of Nashville. I fully expected this to be a great book and I was not disappointed!
A very well written book with astonishing details of crimes that went cold. Then were looked at again. The determination of men who cared enough to doggedly continue to go on and not give up. All of their efforts are paying off today with the use of profiling and modern methods, example DNA. A well written, educational and interesting book.
I am 60 % through this book and reading about every frigging criminal that has ever stepped foot in Nashville as well as what crimes compare to all others in 50 states and the Virgin Islands. This Pat guy is amazing for sure but I gotta say the details and side trails are driving me crazy. If you like a regular true crime story that has you focusing on one story and whatever criminals that were involved in that one crime then, this book needs to be avoided. Propably going to start a brand new chapter in a brand new book that I can comprehend in my feeble old brain.
An interesting book about murders,music, and mayhem in several cities finding out many years later than it was a truck driver who one detective would not give up the even if took many years.
I tried, l really tried, to read this book. 50 pages in, and I have just given up. If you like l~o~n~g, drawn out descriptions of people and places, this is the book for you. I am pretty picky about what l read. I don't care about who settled the town in the 1800's or the genealogy of the main people. I want to read about the crime and the investigation. I don't want to read 70 words, when 10 words will surfice. Also, an ideal book, for me, has only the last few pages dedicated to the trial. I am not interested in reading all the trial testimony. Just my opinion
I liked the descriptions of how plans were concocted and set in motion. After the description of post murder of a couple mentioned the carpet soggy with blood I was repulsed.
