A very sweet/ bittersweet tale about a family dealing with love, loss, and everyday life. Not earth- shaking, but a pleasant way to pass a few summer days.
I finished this book the day after I bought it. I hated to put it down, and I highly recommend it!
Another great one by Jane Green who has become one of my favorite authors!! Her stories are always fresh....love the settings and her characters are people you can relate to.
This is the first Jane Green book I have read and will definitely look for others by her. The storyline was great, filled with sadness and awakening, definitely sobering. Character development was very good. There is something to learn while exploring the sisters' personalities. Indeed, if it is not too late, there is definitely something to learn in motherhood, although the ending proved to be quite a surprise.
I love Jane Green, and I have read all of her books, I even keep track of when the new ones are coming out. Sadly this is the first book of hers I was disappointed in. Sunshine Sisters had some very good and well rounded characters, but it moved very slow even though it jumps through the years. Sometimes it took a few minutes to realize it moved ahead in the years and I felt that we lost so much of the story between the family. I believe she had a good story when going into this but it just didn't play out that well. I found some parts of the book were good and I hoped so much it would move a long from there but it never did. I'm not upset that I bought and read the book, just not one of her best.
I didn't know what to expect from this book,but I loved every page. Great story and excellent character development. A must have this summer.
I enjoyed parts of this book, but felt like it never really got started. The characters weren't developed enough and little happened in the overall story. It was a bit disappointing
I like all Jane Green books. She tells a great story and has wonderful character development. I really enjoyed this book. It was a good summer read and enjoyed going along for the ride. While there were more serious parts, the overall book was heartfelt with a happy ending. You feel good when the book is over. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it did not emotional move me as some of her books.
